Your own design

At Hamza Carpets, sky is the limit when you want to create unique spaces. Whatever you choose, we work closely to create a carpet for you that is head and shoulders above the rest. Our design team is always on hand to assist you in making your ideas become reality. All you have to do is tell us about your project and your ideas for the carpet.

You are also welcome to send us photos or other kinds of inspirational materials. We will help you bring your ideas to life! Based on your input, we develop a series of design proposals with precise emphasis on what you wish to highlight.

Briefing

The conception of a design on the basis of ideas submitted, whether that be sketches, a blueprint, repeating patterns, colours, textiles, patterns, fabrics or wallpapers and in all formats imaginable, photos, sketches, swatches or scribbles.

Design

Creative, colour and graphic implementation of the concept by experienced carpet designers. CAD printouts dispatched by e-mail for customer approval.

Production

Highly skilled draughtsman, working to the restraints required by your floorplan, calculate the size and repetition of the design with extreme accuracy to ensure the very best possible end result and easier installation.

Transport

The product is ready for transport and installation and the moment has come to enjoy your new carpet.

Rug making process

The process of making our hand-made rugs operates on a decentralized model, supported by comprehensive quality checks.

Dyeing

We dye silk to over 3000 colors. Traditional method is used. The dyed yarn has to be dried in the sunlight for one to three days.

Weaving

Artisans weave the rugs from a provided rug map after that they make foundation which is called hand loom.

Washing

Rugs are washed to bring out the natural sheen in the yarns used and dislodge any dirt from the weaving process.

Finishing

When the weaving process has been done after that the carpets are trimming by scissor.

Buying a rug is like buying like a wedding ring for your fiance-it can be overwhelming. There are a number of factors to consider, like if the ring is the perfect size, does she love the design and if she would love to flaunt it or just wear it occasionally. It’s like that moment where “could have/would have/ should have” doesn’t really work unless you know all the specifications just like what you need to buy that PERFECT RUG. Measure the size of the room where the rug needs to be placed…

Light colored rugs/pastel tones would not just add size to your room. This is one aspect where a lot of us get confused whether to keep. A high traffic area needs a rug that is more durable, stain.

How do I clean my carpets?

What special care is involved in Antique carpet ownership?

  • Antique carpets are not only works of art, but also intended for practical use and appreciation
  • We recommend use of padding under your antique or silk carpet. This helps extend the life of a rug by cushioning it from below and preventing wrinkling and damage.
  • Do not place an antique carpet in direct sunlight as this may cause dyes to fade.
  • Rotate an antique carpet if it is placed in area with heavy foot traffic to avoid uneven wear and tear
  • To avoid any insect damage insert dried neem or tobacco leaves in the carpet before storage and packing. Dried lavender and cedar chips are also helpful.
  • Do not drag furniture across an antique carpet, as it can damage the carpet.
  • While storing your carpets protect them from moisture, moths and mice by wrapping them carefully in muslin or paper with mothballs and securely taping all seams.

How are carpets best maintained and stored?

  • The best way to preserve a carpet is to keep it dust free. Dust eats into the foundation and reduces its life. Carpets should also be aired regularly in mild sunlight for 3-4 hours a few times per year. The carpets should not be washed at home orderly cleaned but sent to a professional old carpet cleaner and hand washed without the use of any chemicals and only natural detergents.
  • Note that most carpets that are packed and left unused attract the moth insect, which attacks woolen items in humid conditions. If storing carpets, they should not be packed in plastic but in a cotton or muslin cloth. One can use antimoth agents in storage but the anti moth agents should never be in direct contact with the carpet.
